Vashti and Stuart - Walton Castle, Clevedon near Bristol
Weddings in late September always have a great backdrop of beautiful autumn colours and for Vashti and Stuart’s wedding they were perhaps the best I’ve been lucky enough to shoot with.
Vashti and Stuart decided to get married in a small ceremony at the Bristol Registry Office with just 18 family and friends the Thursday before the wedding party. They followed this with a small reception at the wonderful Clifton Lido and then spent the evening at the Hotel Du Vin in Bristol.
The official wedding party took place 2 days later at Walton Castle in Clevedon which has views of six counties of England and Wales from its hilltop position overlooking the Bristol Channel.
It is a real fairytale castle with dramatic turrets and stunning gardens that were in full autumnal bloom with the leaves on the trees turning from green to a wonderful rich red.
With such an amazing backdrop, I couldn’t resist taking along my Ring-Flash, which is a technique I’ve wanted to introduce into my wedding photography for the last few months.

The way it picked up the colours of the leaves in the photo-booth set of shots is stunning and makes everyone look so glamorous – especially Vashti with her faux fur shrug.
